We offer outdoor training programmes and expeditions for school and college groups. Students gain huge benefits from learning and training in the outdoors.

Our instructors have years of experience designing and delivering outdoor training programmes, on the water and shorebased. We deliver programmes for skills training and national governing body qualifications, adventure expeditions and to fulfil curriculum objectives, throughout the academic year and in holiday time.

Outdoor Learning, Skills for Life

Active learning and adventure outdoors contributes to physical and environmental education, enhances other curriculum areas and develops skills for life and the world of work.

Training programmes can include standalone courses, or a series of theory and practical skills courses and training sessions as preparation for an expedition or adventure trip. For example, training can include:

  • Navigation theory
  • First Aid
  • VHF radio
  • Sea survival

All training courses are run to national governing body standards, eg. Royal Yachting Association and Canoe Wales/British Canoe Union.

Sailing & Kayaking Expeditions

Our yacht sailing and sea kayaking expeditions for groups and schools, take place in north west Wales, Scotland and further afield.  The coastlines of Anglesey and western Scotland offer some of the best adventure paddling and sailing experiences. Previous expeditions, of 1 to 3 weeks duration, include:

  • Slate Isles, Inner Hebrides
  • Kyles of Bute, Tarbert, Crinan
  • Isle of Mull
  • Isle of Anglesey
  • Alaska, Prince William Sound

Ysgol y Môr

Our Ysgol y Môr activity days are designed for primary schools that would like to teach on the beach. Each day includes an exciting set of curriculum linked activities, using the coastal environment, for teachers to deliver on the water or on the beach.
